Getura started with the question, 'What would kitchens look like if chefs designed for themselves?'. Gabe began cooking professionally during college, cooking at one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay, The Progress, under chefs Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinsk. During his time in the kitchens, Gabe began collecting antique spoons and tools on his days off. He pivoted from cooking and returned to school for architecture and design at SCI-Arc, where the idea to merge his professional cooking experience with design thinking came to life. Gestura was born of the passion for bringing the best-quality cooking tools, designed by cooks and for cooks, to home and professional kitchens alike.
The collection is designed in our home of San Francisco, and produced by Mr. Okada in Japan.
