Each lamp is crafted from a freshly baked Milk Bread, that is then hallowed out and coated in an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal resin to protect and seal the lamp for years. Each one-of-a-kind lamp features an interior LED which creates a warm, ambient light.

During her time as a printmaking student at Kyoto City University of Arts, Yukiko Morita fell in love with bread while working at a bakery. She became frustrated watching all the waste, for the bakery, discarded breads at the end of the day, or dough being thrown out due to over production. The idea for what eventually became Pampshade came to her while brainstorming a solution for all the waste.
